Thankful

The week of Thanksgiving ! I could have a list quite long of all the things that I am thankful for , this is just a few !

A loving God

Godly parents

my children

that I am healthy

that I have a home

my ability to create

freedom and all of our soldiers that have fought for it & the one's that still are

All of the bounty in this nation

I know that we can sometimes look at the negative things in life and get bogged down with them , but if we can keep our eyes on the positive and what we do have, we are still a blessed nation! I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving ! Have a blessed week !

A few glimpses in my home!

Spring Ahead !

Well tonight we have to "spring" ahead one hour ! Oh this time change is a hard one to get use to !! The fall back an hour one is a whole lot easier to get accustomed to ! Clock is in my studio ! A garage sale find last summer !

The shelf is in my kitchen and holds one of my favorite things ..... the little green box ! One of my friends gave this to me quite a few years ago and I have treasured it , love the color of it and the sweet little flower on it !! Thought I would share such a sweet little treasure to see !

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and enjoy the "spring" ahead , hope it means that spring is closer ! We still have snow !

Autumn Open House

Welcome to humble home !! Fall left and we had early winter , so any snap shots outside just went out the door !! I have taken some shots of a few little fall decor areas in my home for you to view !

Starting with the top of an old vintage cupboard in my living room , ( the photo is of the top too , so it looks a little crummy...that's because it was an old cupboard I striped and refinished , some was not very good condition , but has more sentimental value than anything) .I have a display of some of my white pottery ( I love white pottery) with some fall shades of glassware and a glass dome covering some treasures of fall ! I know , the poor little pheasant has a broken beak but it is a treasure that was my aunts, so I keep it for that !

A fall arrangement of florals!

Sitting on a shelf in my kitchen is an orange Fiesta Ware gravy bowl filled with a candy treat ! I like to take candy corn and mix with dry roasted peanuts ! Sounds crazy , but it really does taste good together !

A vintage glass dome that I filled with some "beaded" fruit , sits next to a lamp, sorry for the dark photo !!
A basket that sits on a ledge by my stairs , filled with some boyds bears that a friend gave me a years ago and some other little things , a pumpkin, scarecrow and a crow on sticks that I made a long time ago !!
I usually set this sugar creamer set out in the fall because it has the wheat pattern ( Harvest ), my dad was a farmer & this was from a set of dishes my mother had , I kept these !!
Last I have a tin container that hangs on a closet door , I fill it with greens for the season ! Hope you all have a blessed fall and Thanksgiving ! Every season has a purpose and I always think of fall and harvest ( as a farmers daughter ) and how much we are to be thankful for and how blessed we all are !!! I thank God every day for all that He has done for me and in me & pray that you will be blessed !

Friday !!

Was pleasantly surprised to get a convo from sassalynne , telling me she had one of my items from my shop in a Treasury List. That is always a fun convo to get! She has beautiful fibers in her Etsy shop , so take the time & check it out !!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend & I need to get back to creating ! Posting a pic of a new fall creation , some primitive pears each one has one of the fruits of the spirit on ...Faith, Hope , & Love sitting in a chocolate brown pedestal container that has been distressed !! Fall feels like it is in the air and Iam not ready !! Still need to enjoy some summer moments yet !

Around the House !

Thought I would just share a few photos of some things in my home ! Sometimes the things we posses are not valuable in others eyes , but the sentimental value is more ! Everything has it's own story !

The first photo is of a very old cup & saucer ! My mother ( who is 89 years) purchased this when she was first married for just pennies ! My father ( who is 96 years ) used this cup for his coffee ! My parents have had a wonderful marriage, one routine that they always had was my mother made coffee first thing in the morning and then brought my dad coffee in bed & they would sit for awhile in bed and start their day around a cup of coffee ! I know it is hard to imagine for some people , but I really never remember my parents ever having a disagreement even when I was growing up, I guess one would have to say "happily married" fits them well !

Second little photo is of one of my white depression glass sets with sweet little birdies nested inside ! They are Dept 56 birds , I found lost at a thrift shop and they wanted a home ! Now they are happy to have someone to care for them !!

HOME

Saturday I received a pleasant surprise in my mail box ! An issue of Somerset HOME !

They sent me a copy of this issue as I have some of my creations in it ! How fun !

Awhile back one of the editors contacted me through my Etsy shop to see if I would submit some of my Tins !! So I packed them up and off they went !

Three of them were included in the Suite Retreats Gallery.

Now Iam off to get busy creating as I have taken some time off the past month to help my children with different projects , one of which was my youngest son , soon to be 21 on the 6th of August just bought a house , so we moved him in , painted and cleaned ! An adjustment for mom !

New Items Added

I have been trying to finish some new items for Etsy . Listed some today , two collage's and large over sized paper clips !!! The so shabby round frame with the collage inside with the words HOPE , and several glass glitter dusted flowers with rhinestone and pearl centers !! Also I had come across a "plate" to hang with a velvet pink ribbon, I made a collage using various papers, brass wings that are hanging from a sheer ribbon. The verse is : Laughter is ..Sunshine in the heart and wings to the sooul. It is all dusted with silver and clear glass glitter !! Also made up some oversized paperclips for your office !!! Off to finish all the other projects !!!
