Treasury Lists

I was checking out the Treasury Lists on Etsy and saw I was in two lists !!! I think it is so wonderful when someone picks one of your items from your shop to feature in a Treasury List !! Finding New Uses For Old Things

My favorite thing to do !! I have always loved to look at something and know it can have a second life as something else !! Treasures and Goodies !!

I went to several yard sales over the weekend . Did find lots of wonderful treasures !! One was a vintage hat with fabulous millinery flowers all over it ,resting in the white pedestal dish.. the colors are the best ! Also scooped up several spools of sheer ribbon from a local designer going out of business ! And I am addicted to baskets and can not pass them by ever , they can contain things & look great ! Also when I purchased the hat the vendor also had these vintage buttons , my fav is the card with the pink baby buttons ( who does not love pink ? ) !! This past week my daughter in law put on a baby shower for my youngest daughter who is expecting in Sept. ! We know it is a girl & they have picked out a name also.... Hadassah , a Jewish name , and they are going to call her Haddie , so I made a framed collage for her room , all pink & glittery !

Inside My Studio !!

Oh my , a look inside my studio on some days can be overwhelming !! I usually know where everything is , but it can look like a disorganized mess at times . I usually work on several projects at a time , I love sewing , making jewelry & altered art . Fabric & paper are two things I can never have enough of !! If someone could clean my house & make meals I'd be set !!

My photos are of my sewing machine , it is a commercial Singer ! It sews like lightening , when I first fot it I thought .. help .. cant do this , goes too fast ! But now Iam so use to it , I love it !! The "note board" I made from an old vintage window ! And the last shot is of a portion of my shelves & "stuff " !!

Summertime !

How the days fly by and it has been over a month since my last post ! I need to get much better at this !!! I have been creating many new things and will be listing them on Etsy today and tomorrow. I designed a Posie Pin using very sheer fabric , I hand painted the fabric for a more one of a kind look and to add softness to the look ! Also had to make some tags as I have a zillion stamps and I need to use them & use them ! The tags were made using my Cavallini rubber stamp set French Par Avion set ! I think they are fabulous stamps! I have also made some pin cushions , the one photo is a vintage little pedistal dish in a fabulous green color and I used a wonderful print and topped it with one of my most favorite vintage buttons , a pink button in a "cup" shape !

Sewing From The Past

Two finds from my out and about thifting !!! Found an old box full of vintage wooden spools of thread ! And two vintage zippers !!! Looking at the thread makes me wonder about all of the different projects that they were a part of !!!! The zippers , tooo cool !! With a price of .29 and .35 , the pale pink and yellow is super wonderful !! I remember growing up , my mother made almost all of our clothes , sometimes she would take things apart & make into something new ( called upcycle now that it is more trendy !!! ) I need to get back to my sewing more !!! When I was pregnant with my oldest son I made all of my maternity clothes and a lot of his clothes with my first sewing machine.. a Singer Featherweight ... would love to have that machine back now !!! Traded it off for a newer model that did fancy things !!

First Treasury List

I was just crusing the Treasury List on Etsy tonight and "the little Box " just popped up , so I made a list .. I had a brain melt down as to what to even make the list of, I should have a few thoughts on list names , themes ect ahead of time !!! But this is what it is like ... One Of A Kind ...
