Fun with Gelli Printing Plates

Having fun with my Gelli Printing Plates ! I love this new product !!! I purchased mine at Altered Pages and can be found here .The other day I was "playing" with it and wanted to create some tags.I covered my plate with acylic paints and then used various rubber stamps, die cuts and my Brushsticks ! All I can say about the Brushsticks is if you dont have any.....get some ! I have used them for many things , but they are excellent to use on the Gelli Plate !

One tag I used my birdcage die from Altered Pages. I really like these dies, they cut wonderful ! Okay....so I layed the paper die I had cut out on my Gelli Plate , then lifted it off and , a fabulous impression for my tags !

 I am all about layers and worn look so this works well for that ! On this tag I also stamped with

some stamps . I empssed the word "DREAM" with clear emossing powder, also a background stamp of dots, and an ever so tiny bird stamp !! I embellished it with some adorable fabric rose ribbon on the bottom that I sprayed with a glimmer spray !

I love how it turned out with an old worn look !!

Art In The Pines

I am headed to Arizona in July , yes.... going to the Art Retreat hosted by Altered Pages ! Library Cards and Pockets

Just posted my tag I created using the library cards and pockets from Altered Pages on the AP blog ! Click here to see the rest !!

It is already May , thoughts of flowers butterfly's and soft colors ! I made some spring tags !Using some of the great products from Altered Pages !

Using a die cutting machine such as the Zing , cut a tag from colored card stock , about 6 1/4 by 3 1/4 " . Using card stock of color choice emboss with embossing folder , I used dots folder, then cut out a butterfly shape of your choice with die machine or by hand.

Using Versa Mark stamp pad stamp image of your choice on tag , then using clear embossing powder and heat set . Using stamp pad of choice and a inking tool ink portions of tag with at least two colors

Add your floral image ( Klein Postcards ) with edges distressed and inked, using mini clear Squares adhere your image on tag .

Choose your Edges Mini Boarder's and cut desired size , then ink edges and if large enough stamp a sentiment on it. Adhere with Mini Clear Squares.Using Glimmer Mist or any other glitter product spray your paper florals and when dry add them to your tag where you like , layering the paper flowers and adding a half pearl in center of each flower. Add your butterfly , you can also ink the butterfly for a more distressed look and also brings out the embossing more.

Postcard Journal Book

I received my Postale Tags  ( the larger size 6 1/4" by 4 1/8" ) , from Altered Pages ! I have always had a "thing" for tags , I love making them and using them for many things !! I loved the size of these , and the "weight" , I thought to myself, perfect for a small journal !! I think it could be used even as a "special" card for someones birthday !! So I got out my papers & paint !!  I cut a piece of paper as wide as the postcard and about 2" wide , this is how it will be held together !

I used a scalloped edge scissor also , and after I glued it to the postcard I distressed it with a blending tool and ink. Gluing the whole book together this way !

After my book was all assembled I used stencils that I had and  mist paints or use any kind of paints you want for your backgrounds.

I aged some pages again with ink and a blending tool , I like an aged look !!

This is what the page ended up looking like !

I used some die cuts , a clock from Altered Pages Collage sheet , and stamped the text on clear acyclic from a package ( recycle )  ! More pages to follow,

The cover of the book( the very first photo )  is from a stencil that I misted on and added embellishments such as a paper doily that I also misted and glued , then stamped the cover with various stamps , added a die cut butterfly that was glittered and some leaves, and an adorable little image from Altered Pages! I use a pen for outlines and doodles& of course some pearls & rhinestones !! A quick little book to make to journal some thoughts for yourself or for a friend !If you have any questions feel free to email me , there is an email link on the right side of my blog !

It's a GiveAway !!!

Yup !!! It's a GiveAway !  It has been a little over a year that I have been part of the Design Team at Altered Pages ! So in honor of that I thought I would do a little give away for all of you !! I gathered up some of my hand made treasures  ! Such as :

Journal on the Small Side !!

Playing around with paper again !!! I made a small little journal book , for just putting a few little treasured thoughts in to cherish & save !! I used various papers , stamps and embellishments ! Page two ,

the arrows are grunge board and sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Graphite, the little crown also is Grunge Board, but inked it first and then sprayed with a Glimmer Mist ( gotta have that little bit of sparkle ), and a stamped image that I just taped down with Tim Hiltz tape ( love the stuff )  ! Page three are :

a tag stamped and folded with a Grunge Board Key , paper buttons from card stock that I also stamped. and on the other page I added ever so tiny flowers from sheet music paper with a rhinestone center ! Pages four are:

A journal sticker from my stash ( can not remember from where ) the other page is from Altered Pages , one of my favorite images , Vintage ATC 1, I added some gears from one of my Tim Holtz dies ! Page five is

paper from the Glitz line again that I cut out with a die and added some little stickers ! The next page is another image from the same ATC  sheet with a chair stamp that I cut out !Page six is:

I have been on a book making trend lately , I also made a journal for my daughter to  write all the cute things kids say , we always think we should write it down , never do and then it is forgotten ! So I of course forgot to take any photos of it so I will leave you a photo of my grand kids , the newest addition , Tovah was born on Jan 24, with big sister Haddie and big brother Zeke  !

Tiny Books & Altered Cards

 I have seen a lot of cute little altered books made to be a necklace , loved them & decided to make my own !! I have always thought it would be great to have some special quote or verse in a handy little book ! I used grunge paper for the cover and the inside papers I used images from Altered Pages that look like vintage pages to give an interesting background for your notes & quotes !! On the covers I also used images from Altered Pages and covered them with clear embossing to make the a little more sturdy !

The edges of the book pages and the cover have been distressed to give a more tattered look , so it looks like it's been around for a long time & had lots of love !

I also finished my Altered Bingo Cards for a swap I am doing over at the Yahoo group for Altered Pages , you can click on this link to join in on all the fun !!

Bingo cards were created using  images and papers from Altered Pages , some of the papers are the Glitz papers which I think are fabulous and can be found here !

New Kit on Altered Pages

A new kit has been added to Altered Pages that I created! So if you get a chance  go check it out & while you are there check out all of the other treasures available ! I love all of the new Glitz papers that have been added with matching embellishments ! 100 years old !!

I made this card today , it is for my dad ! This coming week he will be 100 years old ! It is so hard to believe that he is 100 ! My parents live in their home still and have a live in caregiver. My dad was a farmer and he loved every aspect of farming . He also loved working with wood and creating furniture ,frames and all kinds of wood treasures !

I made this card with Glitz Paper from Altered Pages . Love the paper and all of the designs ! Be sure to check out the web site for all kinds of paper craft goodies. There are kits ,stamps,collage sheets,tools and embellishments !

The card has die cut frames for the center , I stamped & embossed on the top one. The numbers are also grunge paper die cuts and sprayed with Glimmer Mist !
